wiki: Eleusina was the site of the famous Eleusinian Mysteries, or the Mysteries of Demeter and Kore, which became popular in the Greek speaking world as early as 600BC. Persephone (Greek: Περσεφόνη), also called Kore (“the maiden”) or Cora, was the daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter, and was the queen of the underworld. The central myth of the Mysteries was Demeter’s quest for her lost daughter who had been abducted by Hades
