The convent, for over 300 years, is a significant part of the historical heritage of the island. The compound used to house the famed Greek-French School, which played an important role in the education and upbringing of several generations of girls from all over Greece. Additionally, the nuns, dedicated to philanthropy, and moral and social contribution, always extended a helping hand to the locals, especially during the most difficult periods of time
