dead trees on a cloudy day at mount Parnitha (…today that is)

wiki: mount Parnitha (sometimes Parnetha) is a densely forested mountain range north of Athens, the highest on the peninsula of Attica, with an elevation of 1,413 m. Much of the mountain is designated a national park, and is a protected habitat for wildfowl, first created in 1961

  1. …much of it, coveted by arsonists, goes up in flames every year(or whatever remains! The lungs of Athens fighting for oxygen!

  2. after the big fire in 2007, Athens suffered. During summer temperature rose 4C more than average and in winter rain almost drowned nearby areas. Fortunately things got better, there was even an increase of the red deer population… This photo is taken in Tatoi estate, the residence of ex-king Constantine. I went there yesterday for the first time… and I was very surprised… so more photos to come 🙂
