Stairs of a “sirma” house.

In Milos island “sirma” is the house of a fisherman, designed for parking his caique during winter. Usually there was this basic room down on sea level for boat-parking and the familly lived on top.

There is this beautiful old village in Milos, called Klima where “sirmata” lay next to each other. Locals call it “little Venice of Milos”. It is so picturesque, it’ s like witnessing different theater stages as you walk along open doors. Every door has a distinct color, people are doing their daily routine and the sunset is glorious!

P.s.: you can find other photos of “sirmata” in previous posts (“sirma”, “one-act play”)
