Aeolos was appointed from Zeus as guardian of the winds. He kept the winds in his windbag and released them after Zeus’ command. Tinos island is beautiful and windswept and its oblong shape doesn’t offer any calm, if he decides to show his strength. North winds make “Kavalourko” unapproachable so people carved his face on this rock just to calm him down.

That day Aeolos overslept…
